As always a big Thank You to all our members, supporters and members parents who without , we could not accomplish as much as we do.

Rookies Excel at Lifesupport and pass their awards

Well done to our rookie group who have passed their Rookie Life Support Award! They have been busy over the past 4 weeks learning lifesaving skills in CPR and basic first aid and then practising these to a high level. Speaking with one of the Trainers they said “Its wonderful to see the enthusiasm from the Rookies learning these important lifesaving skills, we hope they will never have the need to use them, but should something happen they will know how to act to try and save a life.

Our last training session before Christmas will be on the 18th December, we will then begin our Christmas Break. Training will resume as normal on the 8th January 2017. Any changes to the above will be sent out via email, displayed on the Clubs Facebook page and Website.

Boscombe members at Save Santa Swim

Well Done to Leon, Charlotte & Stacie who took part in the RLSS Poole Lifeguards Save Santa Swim raising money for local charity Julia’s House. The evening proved to be a great success with everyone having fun towing submersible manikins dressed in Santa suits up and down the pool in teams of 5-6 rescuers. Following the swim medals were presented to all those who took part by a surprise guest of the evening, the RLSS UK Drowning Prevention Mascot “Perry” Following getting changed refreshments were laid on including drinks, mince pies and chocolates.

Poole Lifeguard Club Captain, Simon Moore said ” I would just like to say a HUGE THANKYOU FROM Poole Lifeguards to Stacie, Charlotte and Leon and their parents for taking the time to take part in our Save Santa event. I’m sure you would agree that everyone who took part put in a fantastic effort, In total we managed to swim and tow Santa for 466 lengths in 50 mins and raised at the moment £265 for Julia’s house but i’m sure this will rise. I hope you all enjoyed yourselves and would appreciate any feedback you would like to give.
Once again thanks for your support.
Simon.

“SAVE SANTA” SWIM 15 December 2016

Hi Everyone,

As the festive season is approaching we have been invited by our friends at RLSS Poole Lifeguards to join in with their charity swim to raise money for Julia’s House a local children’s hospice that provides care for children with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition and emotional support for their families.

This year the swim will have a twist, Santa has got himself into serious difficulty while out swimming and needs saving!  Entrants will be put into teams and will have their lifesaving skills put into practice to tow Santa to safety, because if he drowns you all know what happens !!!!!

The swim will take place at the Dolphin Swimming Pool, Poole at 19:30 till approx 21:15

The fee for entering is a £10 donation with all monies raised going to support Julia’s House, your donation is payable on the night of the swim (You can pay the donation yourself or if you wish you can raise the donation through Sponsorship from friends and family)

On completion of the swim you will receive a medal for taking part and refreshments will be provided.

We hope you can join us to help Save Santa, have fun with fellow lifesavers and support a very worthwhile local charity.

Thank you,

RLSS Boscombe Lifeguards
