Club AGM 2019

On Monday 11th November the Club held its annual AGM, the event was well attended and we welcome some new faces on to the Boscombe Committee as well as thank some officers standing down.

Joining the Committee for 2020 we welcome Morgan Thomas Club Captain, Danni Callahan Training Officer, Jeanette Francis Rookie Training Officer, Michelle Knight Membership Officer, Fiona Callahan Joining Janet on Fundraising, KevCallahan IT Rep, Chris Grant Welfare Officer. We welcome you all to the committee and wish you the best in your roles in the coming year.

We also have several officers standing down after many years of service to the committee. Our thanks to Nick and Hannah Sparrowhawk. Between them, they have helped rebuild the Club from the days under the pier where it was thought the club would fold, to the Club it is today. A huge thanks to you both and all the best in the coming months.

And finally…..

Although Nick has taken a step back from the Captain’s duties, he has accepted a nomination to become Club President this will allow him to continue to be part of the development of the club as we look to the future.

End of another Season

We have now come to the end of another successful season with many events, safety covers, competitions and of course training. A big thank you to all those who have helped at the above events, the club grows from strength to strength but this can not be down without everyone’s input.

A big Thankyou and now to some down time ready for 2020 🙂

Boscombe Lifeguards To Nationals

Congratulations to our members who have progressed through the Regional Competitions to compete at the National Finals in Leeds on the 24th of November. Well Done to Charlotte, Ella, Holly, Megan, Alfie and Caspian. Also, a big Well Done and thank you to our Competitions Secretary Sarah supported by Club Chair Steve who have made this happen 🙂

Boscombe LGs Supports Dont Drink & Drown

Boscombe Lifeguards was down at Bournemouth Pier early this morning to spread the word of “Dont Drink & Drown” to several hundred survivors of the Bournemouth University Summer Ball who congregated for a photo on the beach.

 

The event was held in good spirits and volunteers from Boscombe Lifeguards distributed special branded bottles of water while spreading the word of Water Safety awareness especially after a night out.

 

A big thank you to all members who turned out to support this event.

Rookies Pass First Aid Assessment

Congratulations to Jack, HarryCharlotte, Holly, Megan& Stacie  who passed their Rookie First Aid Assessment last night.

Rookie First Aid is one of the Rookie specialty bolt-on awards required to achieve the Master Rookie Award. The award provides basic first aid training to Rookies covering subjects including Safety, Casualty After Care and treatment of Bleeding,  Shock and Heat and Cold Injuries.

Boscombe Rookies promote the club at Tescos

A big Thank You to Meghan, Charlotte & Stacie who turned up to Tesco’s Tower Park on Sunday Morning to promote RLSS Boscombe Lifeguards while fundraising for RLSS UK, the drowning prevention charity. The Rookies were supported by the clubs Vice Captain Morgan Thomas. Morgan said ” Its fantastic to see our young members supporting events like these and promoting their club and the work it does while supporting the larger organisation we are proud to be part of” The event was very successful raising awareness and raising of £60 funds for the central charity.

Dont Forget … RLSS Boscombe Lifeguards AGM – TONIGHT

RLSS Boscombe Lifeguards Annual General Meeting will be held tonight at the Coach & Horses, Skittle Alley in Wimborne starting at 19:30.Nominations of the 2017 season committee will be decided on the evening. If any Parents would like to take on a role please let us know

All members are invited to join us, even if you haven’t booked in for food you can still join us for a drink and attend the AGM, partake in a few rounds of Skittles  and chat to the Clubs Management.
